  12. Recently, out of ignorance, I bought a 28.8 USR Sportster internal for
  13. use in an office.  It was to connect to a spare jack for our digital
  14. PBX phone system.  The modem was dead -- it would talk to the
  15. computer, but it could not detect a dial tone, etc.  I finally figured
  16. out that the USR won't work on anything but an analog line.

  18. Is this the exception or the rule?  We had to relocate that modem, but
  19. my boss wants a modem at that original location.  Must we shoot for
  20. 14.4s instead?

  22. Please advise on modem options.  Changing the phone jack to analog is
  23. not an option *yet*.
